Academic Programmes at Rohilkhand Medical College

RMCH is a constituent of Bareilly International University (BIU) and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), offering a range of medical courses from undergraduate to doctoral levels.

1. MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)

• Degree: Undergraduate medical degree (MBBS).
• Duration: 5.5 years (including a mandatory 1‑year rotating internship).
• Seats: 250 seats annually (approved intake).
• Eligibility: NEET‑UG qualification and 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (minimum aggregate required).
• Curriculum: Covers foundational sciences, clinical postings, hands‑on patient care, and clinical rotations across specialties.
• Recognition: NMC approval ensures the MBBS is valid for medical registration and practice in India.

The MBBS course is designed to produce medical professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviours necessary for effective clinical practice.

2. Postgraduate Courses (MD/MS)

RMCH offers a wide range of MD (Doctor of Medicine) and MS (Master of Surgery) postgraduate courses, each typically lasting three years. Admission to these programmes is through the NEET‑PG examination and subsequent counselling.

3. PhD and Doctoral Programmes (Through Bareilly International University)

While RMCH itself primarily focuses on MBBS and MD/MS clinical training, the parent university (Bareilly International University) offers Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) programmes in medical and allied disciplines.

Key Features of Ph.D. Programmes:

• Ph.D. in Medical Sciences: Covers clinical and non‑clinical subjects, enabling deep research in areas such as physiology, pathology, pharmacology, anatomy, community medicine, and more.
• Duration is typically three to six years, depending on thesis completion and academic requirements.
• Eligibility usually requires a postgraduate degree (MD/MS, M.Sc., etc.) in a relevant subject.
